What do Vijay, Suriya and Vikram have in common, other than the fact that theyre actors? What do Vetri Maaran, K V Anand and Dharani have in common, other than the fact that theyre directors? Well, all of them are from the same college Loyola. And now, the Loyola Alumni Association is organizing an event during which the celebrity alumni will go back to college days for a noble cause! With Loyolavin Kalloori Paathai Andrum, Indrum and Endrum, they will team up for a get-together that promises to be a lot of fun, and will also raise funds for a new block in the college campus. TOI gets talking to a few of them who are looking forward to the event, which is presented in association with The Times of India.
JAYAM RAVI, ACTOR: It feels nice to be associated with a college event again. Its a fundraiser event, and it also gives us an opportunity to meet and greet our friends from the campus. I might also perform at the event; were working out the possibilities currently. Its for a good cause and the alumni is coming together to put up a show on a grand scale.
VISHAL, ACTOR: The last time I went to my college was in 2009, as a chief guest for a cultural event. For me, my college brings back car park memories more than classroom ones! My best friend contested the college elections the first time and he won it. It will be nice to meet everyone again; my seniors, my batchmates, everyone. Its nice to revisit college without being a student!
SARATH KUMAR, ACTOR: I have many fond memories associated with the college and thats why I make sure I participate in
functions. I was groomed due to my college days and have made many friends there. Im looking forward to participating in the event and re-uniting with some of my old pals.
VETRI MAARAN, DIRECTOR: I keep visiting the college often, and I dont even feel like Ive been away from it! In fact, Im contemplating finishing a course there and will mostly join the college again. So, it feels really nice to attend an event associated with it.
K V ANAND, DIRECTOR: After finishing physics for my graduation course, I took up a post-graduate visual communication course. It was the first time in the state that this course was offered and we had great fun during that phase. We learnt about so many things connected to photography and filmmaking and those helped me take up movies. Till date, I still use some of the things that were taught back then and so, Im happy to be part of an event held to benefit the college students and relive memories.
AALAAP RAJU, SINGER: I decided to become a musician only during my college days and cherish the time Ive spent there. Even during a recent meeting at the campus, I became quite emotional seeing the places where I spent time during my days there. For Kalloori Paathai, I will be performing with my singer friends, Rahul and Suchi, and am awaiting an evening of music and nostalgia.
